Crested Butte, Colorado
We are in Crested Butte, Colorado and will be here until Sunday. It has been a great trip so far. The skiing has been great, as they had gotten lots of snow up here prior to us arriving on Wednesday. Since then, it has been blue skies. Ashlyn caught back on to skiing very well, after having a 2 year hiatus, and Aubrey learned to ski by herself this year. We visited Slogars, Lil’s Sushi and Seafood, and tomorrow are going to just hang out and chill all day, maybe catch the new movie “The Princess and The Frog”. Thanks to the Calhoon’s for the use of their amazing house!

Ashlyn’s Art Award
Ashlyn’s Wood Duck painting was accepted into the 2009 State Fair of Oklahoma, and she was awarded a Merit Award. She has definitely taken a liking to Daddy’s previous talent, and I am sure, will continue. She is currently taking art lessons from Arni Anderson, who was my art teacher during junior high into college. He had a tremendous impact on me and my art, and I am sure he will impact Ashlyn as well. Here are a few photos of her getting her award, and her work.

Happy Birthday To Aubrey
Here is a short video from Aubrey’s 6th birthday party at School. She had a great day, with princess cupcakes and cake. She also had a party at Snip It’s with some of her friends from school. She had a great time and Cousin Georgia Ann even came to visit from Kansas! More pics to come later from Snip It’s…

On The Farm
Cowgirl Ash
Ashlyn has been practicing alot since her birthday, barrel racing and pole bending. All the practice didn’t prepare her, however, for her first ride in the Edmond Roundup Rodeo. On the second barrel, her horse pulled off course and she was thrown off, luckily landing on her feet. The next day, we went to the Piedmont Playday, to get her back on again, for some easy riding. She did great, and decided she really wanted to enter again, for both barrel racing and pole bending. Thanks to Meg Tebow (and the rest of the family), Ashlyn was able to ride “Champ”, who later placed her first in barrels, where she took home the purse of $8! She was one happy girl! Thanks a million to the Tebows for their generosity and support!

Ashlyn is 9!! Happy Birthday!! We had a great time at Great Wolf Lodge in Grapevine, Texas and returned for her party today. Below are some pics from the party. Enjoy!

The Snapping Turtle
Aubrey caught a turtle out at the barn the other night, and brought it home. Mom didn’t know it was a snapping turtle until later, so we had to release it. Apparently it should be good for the pond, and it may even take care of some of the other turtles.
